Spacelab Detroit is located on the 7th floor of 607 Shelby St Detroit Michigan 48226. Spacelab Detroit is a new, beautifully renovated, black owned, co-working space downtown. Please see attachment for more details including speaker biographies.
We will have experienced and successful business owners speak on entreprenuership and startups. If you want to speak to successful entrepreneurs please join us. If you want to know how startups work or how some raise money for their startup businesses without working full time then you should come to this event.

COMPES is comprised of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and they organize a Professional Development Conference (PDC) each year.

The COMPES PDC is being led by Ford members of WiPD and WiM along with Industry partners from SWE, NSBE, SHPE. COMPES PDC allows the ability to network with 200+ professional engineers from private (e.g., automotive, energy, etc.) and public (government) sectors. Although many are minority professionals, NSBE, SHPE, and SWE are planning this professional development conference for all engineers. Of previous conference attendees, 80% named networking as one of the benefits and reasons to attend. There will be sessions on technical topics, soft skills, and on developing tools for personal and professional growth. We will be having our general body meeting next month on Friday March 10th at the University of Detroit Mercy-McNichols Campus. This meeting is very important because it will be our last general body meeting for this year. I would like to see all of you there if at all possible. Brian Thomas “The Professional Development Trailblazer”, will be our speaker, and I would like to have a great turnout for this event. The meeting will be at the University of Detroit-Mercy McNichols Campus, inside the Center for Cyber Security and Intelligence Classroom, located on the 2nd floor of the Briggs Building. *Note: the McNichols entrance will be closed. Also, we will be collecting toiletries for the Detroit Phoenix Center that evening. Please bring your donations to the meeting, and encourage others to do the same as well, so that we can give to those in need.
